raw deals
Getting cheated badly
Raw deals are unfair treatments or outcomes—situations where someone gets cheated or shortchanged.
The phrase draws on the card-dealing metaphor: a raw deal is one where the cards were stacked against you from the start.
Factory workers got raw deals when their pensions were cut.
