ramped up
Increased the intensity
Ramped up means increased or intensified, typically in a gradual or staged way.
The image is of ascending a ramp rather than jumping: Production ramped up over several months.
It often describes deliberate escalation of effort, pressure, or output: They ramped up security before the summit.
