postal employees

Mail service workers

Postal employees are workers for a government mail service—letter carriers, clerks, sorters, and administrators.

The term gained dark connotations from a series of workplace shootings at U.S. post offices in the 1980s and 1990s, giving rise to the phrase "going postal" for violent outbursts.
