post-it notes
Sticky paper squares
Post-it notes are small pieces of paper with a lightly adhesive strip on one edge, designed to stick temporarily to surfaces without leaving residue.
They're used for reminders, bookmarks, and quick messages: The monitor was covered in post-it notes.
The name comes from the 3M brand Post-it, though the term now applies generically to any repositionable sticky note.
