poked around
Investigated without urgency
To poke around is to search or explore casually, often without a clear purpose—rummaging through drawers, browsing a shop, or investigating something out of curiosity rather than urgency.
I poked around the attic and found some old photographs.
It can also mean to investigate informally: The reporter had been poking around, asking questions about the mayor's finances.
