peacockish
Flaunting one's feathers
Peacockish describes behavior or appearance that is showy and vain, like a peacock displaying its tail feathers.
Someone peacockish seeks attention through flashy dress, boastful talk, or ostentatious gestures: He made a peacockish entrance in his velvet cape.
The word carries a note of disapproval—the display seems excessive or unearned.
