partial seizure

Brain area episode

A partial seizure is an epileptic seizure originating in one area of the brain rather than affecting the whole brain at once.

Symptoms depend on the region involved—a partial seizure might cause twitching in one limb, unusual sensations, or altered awareness without full loss of consciousness.

Also called focal seizure.

The medication reduced her partial seizures from weekly to monthly.
