overemoting
Too much feeling
Overemoting is displaying more emotion than a situation warrants, or expressing feelings in an exaggerated, theatrical way.
The term often criticizes performers for hammy acting: The director told her to dial it back—she was overemoting in every scene.
It can also describe everyday dramatic excess: He's overemoting about a parking ticket.
