off track
Lost the path
Off track means deviating from the intended path or direction.
Literally, it describes something that has left its rails or course: The train went off track during the storm.
More often figurative, describing conversations, projects, or people who have strayed from their purpose: We got off track and never finished the agenda.
In betting, off-track refers to wagering conducted away from the racetrack itself.
