nonissue

Settled, forgotten matter

A nonissue is something that doesn't matter or isn't worth discussing—a topic someone raises that others dismiss as irrelevant or already settled: Whether she's qualified is a nonissue; she has more experience than anyone.

Often used to shut down debate: That's a nonissue.

Something can become a nonissue once it's resolved or shown to be unimportant.
