A nonactor is someone who isn't a professional actor—an ordinary person appearing in a film, commercial, or theatrical production.
Directors sometimes cast nonactors for authenticity: The film used nonactors from the actual neighborhood.
The term also describes anyone not involved in a particular situation or process: nonactor in the negotiations.
