non-sufficient
Falling short, lacking
Non-sufficient means inadequate or not enough to meet a requirement.
The term appears most often in banking: non-sufficient funds (NSF) describes an account lacking enough money to cover a check or transaction, resulting in the payment being declined or bounced.
Outside finance, insufficient is the standard term.
