newish

Not quite fresh

Newish means fairly new or somewhat new—not brand new, but not old either.

The suffix softens the claim: The car is newish, maybe two years old.

It hedges when you can't commit to calling something definitively new: a newish restaurant, newish shoes that still look fresh.
