nesting materials
Twigs and fluff
Nesting materials are substances birds and other animals gather to construct nests—twigs, grass, leaves, feathers, moss, fur, or mud.
Pet stores sell nesting materials for caged birds and small animals.
The term extends to any supplies gathered for creating a comfortable space: She bought nesting materials for the hamster cage.
