manufacturing floor
Where goods emerge
The manufacturing floor is the physical space in a factory where production actually happens—where workers operate machinery, assemble products, and handle materials.
Distinguished from offices, warehouses, and administrative areas, it's where raw materials become finished goods: She started on the manufacturing floor and worked her way up to management.
Also called the factory floor or shop floor.
