hidden contributors
Behind-the-scenes workers
Hidden contributors are people whose work or influence goes unrecognized, often because credit flows to more visible figures.
The term appears in discussions of collaborative work, historical narratives, and institutional achievements: The museum exhibit finally acknowledged the hidden contributors to the space program.
The phrase implies that the obscurity is structural rather than accidental—assistants, researchers, ghostwriters, or marginalized groups whose efforts were overlooked or deliberately minimized.
