hemp wick
Beeswax-coated cord
Hemp wick is a length of hemp twine coated in beeswax, used as an alternative to butane lighters for lighting pipes, candles, or other combustibles.
Cannabis users favor it for avoiding the taste of lighter fluid: I switched to hemp wick for cleaner hits.
The wick burns slowly and can be extinguished between uses.
