A hat band is a strip of material encircling a hat where the crown meets the brim, serving both decorative and functional purposes.
Hat bands may be ribbon, leather, fabric, or cord, often in a contrasting color or texture: He tucked a feather into his hat band.
The band can also help adjust fit by adding thickness inside the crown.
