ghibli
Hot Saharan breeze
Ghibli is a hot, dry wind from the Sahara that blows across Libya and nearby coastal regions, often carrying dust and sand.
The word comes from Arabic.
Outside meteorology, Ghibli is best known as the name of Studio Ghibli, the Japanese animation company behind films like *Spirited Away* and *My Neighbor Totoro*—named after the wind to suggest sweeping change through the anime industry.
