free beach
No-cost coastal access
A free beach is one where nudity is permitted—short for clothing-free or clothing-optional beach.
The term distinguishes these areas from conventional beaches where swimwear is required: We found a free beach about a mile past the resort.
Some free beaches are officially designated; others are simply tolerated by local custom.
