fourth class

Fourth class designates the lowest or least prestigious tier in a ranking system.

In postal services, fourth class historically referred to the cheapest mail category for parcels and printed matter—slow delivery, minimal handling.

In transportation, particularly trains and ships, fourth class was the most basic accommodation: They traveled fourth class across Europe.
