found poem
Repurposed text arrangement
A found poem is a piece of poetry created by taking words, phrases, or passages from non-poetic sources—newspapers, advertisements, signs, overheard conversations—and arranging them into verse.
The poet discovers rather than invents the language, reshaping existing text through selection and lineation: She made a found poem from her grandmother's grocery lists.
