flimsies
Lightweight carbon papers
Flimsies are thin, lightweight papers—especially the tissue-like sheets used for carbon copies or airmail.
In journalism, flimsies were the onionskin pages of wire service dispatches or hastily typed copy.
The word also refers to flimsy garments, particularly women's lightweight underwear or negligees: She packed a few flimsies for the honeymoon.
