field missions
Work beyond headquarters
Field missions are operations conducted away from headquarters, typically in the location where work actually needs to happen.
The term appears most often in humanitarian, diplomatic, and military contexts—UN field missions deploy personnel to conflict zones, while aid organizations send field missions to disaster areas.
The emphasis is on being present on the ground rather than working remotely: She spent three years on field missions in sub-Saharan Africa.
