end it

Pull the plug

End it means to conclude or terminate something, often appearing in contexts where the object is understood: Let's just end it (a relationship), I had to end it (a conversation, a project).

In darker usage, end it is a euphemism for suicide—to end one's life: He was thinking about ending it.

The phrase can also mean to kill someone: The assassin was hired to end it quickly.
