early bloomers
First spring flowers
Early bloomers are people who develop or mature ahead of the typical schedule—whether physically, intellectually, or in achievements.
The term comes from plants that flower before others of their kind.
A child who reads at three or reaches puberty at nine might be called an early bloomer: She was an early bloomer, publishing her first novel at seventeen.
The opposite is a late bloomer.
