double dipped
Collected payment twice
Double dipped describes something coated twice—ice cream bars dipped in chocolate a second time, or chips dunked back into shared dip after a bite (a social taboo).
In slang, it means collecting two payments for the same work, especially a retiree drawing a pension while working another government job: He double dipped by retiring from the military and taking a federal position.
