diving helmets
Deep-sea head protection
Diving helmets are watertight headgear worn by divers working underwater, typically connected to a surface air supply through a hose.
Traditional models are rigid metal or fiberglass enclosures that rest on the shoulders and seal at the neck, allowing the diver to breathe normally while submerged.
The classic brass diving helmet, with its round faceplate and threaded connections, became iconic in salvage and construction work from the 19th century onward.
Modern versions may incorporate demand regulators and communication systems.
