daggum

Rural mild oath

Daggum is a mild oath, a folksy euphemism for "goddamn" common in Southern American speech.

It softens the profanity while preserving the emphatic force: That's the daggum truth, I can't find my daggum keys.

Like similar substitutes (dadgum, doggone), it lets speakers express frustration without technically swearing.
