curriculum night

Parents visit classrooms

Curriculum night is an event, usually early in the school year, when parents visit their children's school to learn about what will be taught and how.

Parents typically follow their child's class schedule in abbreviated form, meeting each teacher briefly.

Unlike parent-teacher conferences, curriculum night focuses on coursework and expectations rather than individual student progress: I have to leave work early for curriculum night.
