convection heating
Heat through movement
Convection heating warms a space by circulating air or liquid.
A heating element warms air, which rises and displaces cooler air, creating continuous circulation.
Space heaters, radiators, and forced-air furnaces use convection.
The term distinguishes this method from radiant heating, which warms objects directly: Convection heating takes longer to warm a room but distributes heat more evenly.
