A compliance hold is a physical restraint technique used by law enforcement, security personnel, or martial artists to control a person through pain or immobilization.
The hold applies pressure to joints or pressure points, compelling the subject to comply with commands or stop resisting: The officer put him in a compliance hold until he stopped struggling.
