common purpose
Unified group aim
Common purpose is a shared aim that unites people in action.
In law, it refers to a doctrine holding all participants in a joint criminal enterprise liable for acts committed in furtherance of that enterprise, even acts they didn't personally perform: Under the common purpose rule, all three were convicted of murder.
Outside legal contexts, it simply means working toward the same goal: The team found common purpose in rebuilding the neighborhood.
