Self-setting fishing hook
A circle hook is a fishing hook with a point that curves sharply inward toward the shank, forming a roughly circular shape.
The design causes the hook to slide toward the corner of a fish's mouth rather than lodging deep in the throat, reducing injury and making catch-and-release fishing more effective.
Circle hooks require letting the fish take the bait and swim away rather than setting the hook with a sharp jerk.
