cellar tour
Underground storage walkthrough
A cellar tour is a guided visit through a winery's underground storage area where wine ages in barrels and bottles.
The tour typically includes explanation of the winemaking process and culminates in tastings: We did a cellar tour in Napa last summer.
The term extends to tours of brewery cellars, cheese caves, or any facility with underground aging rooms.
