bumblebee nest
Fuzzy pollinator home
A bumblebee nest is the colony structure where bumblebees live and raise their young, typically built underground in abandoned rodent burrows, though sometimes in grass clumps, birdhouses, or other sheltered cavities.
Unlike honeybee hives, bumblebee nests are small and temporary—housing only a few dozen to a few hundred bees for a single season.
We found a bumblebee nest under the garden shed.
