bragging on

Boasting about someone

Bragging on is a Southern and Midland American expression meaning to praise or speak proudly of someone: She's always bragging on her grandkids.

Unlike bragging about, which can sound self-centered, bragging on typically involves expressing pride in others' accomplishments.

The construction remains regional but is widely understood.
