bolivars
Caracas cash units
Bolivars are the currency of Venezuela, named after Simón Bolívar, the revolutionary leader who liberated much of South America from Spanish rule.
Due to severe inflation, Venezuela has redenominated the bolivar multiple times, lopping zeros off the currency: A cup of coffee cost millions of bolivars.
The singular is bolivar.
