boiler plate
Reusable contract language
Boilerplate originally referred to the rolled steel plates used to make boilers, but the term now almost always means standardized, reusable text in contracts, forms, or documents.
Legal agreements are full of boilerplate—clauses covering liability, jurisdiction, and other matters that appear nearly identically across many documents.
The lawyer said most of it was just boilerplate.
By extension, boilerplate describes any generic, formulaic language or content that lacks originality.
