bee swarms
Migrating hive masses
A bee swarm is a mass of honeybees clustered together, typically hanging from a tree branch or other surface while scouts search for a new home.
Swarming is how bee colonies reproduce—the old queen leaves with thousands of workers to establish a new colony.
Despite their alarming appearance, swarms are generally docile since the bees have no hive to defend.
