Bag work is boxing or martial arts training done on a punching bag—typically a heavy bag for power or a speed bag for timing and rhythm.
The term covers any solo practice involving striking a suspended or mounted bag: I do thirty minutes of bag work before sparring.
It builds conditioning, technique, and punch combinations without a live partner.
