background scores
Cinema's ambient melodies
Background scores are the musical compositions accompanying film, television, or video game scenes, distinct from songs with lyrics or featured musical numbers.
The score supports mood and emotion without drawing attention to itself: The background score built tension throughout the chase sequence.
