Ass kissing is excessive flattery or servile behavior aimed at gaining favor from someone in authority.
The ass kisser praises the boss lavishly, agrees with everything, volunteers for menial tasks—whatever might curry favor: All that ass kissing finally got him promoted.
The term is crude but not strongly vulgar, common in workplace complaints.
