Tom Nook
Tom Nook is a raccoon character from Nintendo's Animal Crossing video game series, where he runs the town shop and real estate business.
He's become a meme symbol for predatory capitalism—players joke about his aggressive mortgage lending and inescapable debt cycles: Tom Nook owns my soul.
Despite the jokes, he charges no interest and never forecloses.
