Serengeti plains
Tanzanian wildlife grasslands
The Serengeti plains are a vast grassland ecosystem in East Africa, spanning northern Tanzania and extending into southwestern Kenya.
The region is famous for its annual wildebeest migration and extraordinary concentration of large mammals—lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes.
We watched the sun set over the Serengeti plains.
The name comes from Maasai words meaning "endless plains."
