STI test
Infection detection exam
An STI test is a medical screening for sexually transmitted infections—diseases passed through sexual contact, including HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and herpes.
Testing may involve blood draws, urine samples, or swabs.
You should get an STI test if you have a new partner.
Also called STD test, using the older term "disease" rather than "infection."
