RFK assassination

Ambassador Hotel shooting

The RFK assassination refers to the shooting of Senator Robert F.

Kennedy on June 5, 1968, at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, moments after he won the California Democratic presidential primary.

Kennedy died the following day.

Sirhan Sirhan was convicted of the murder, though conspiracy theories have persisted.

The assassination, coming just two months after Martin Luther King Jr.'s killing, deepened the sense of violence and upheaval defining that era in American history.
