Mrs Hudson
Mrs Hudson is the landlady of 221B Baker Street in Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories.
She appears as a background figure—providing meals, announcing visitors, and tolerating her famous tenant's eccentricities.
The name has become shorthand for the patient, long-suffering keeper of a difficult household: Who's going to be Mrs Hudson and make sure everyone gets fed?
