A French martini is a cocktail made with vodka, Chambord (a black raspberry liqueur), and pineapple juice.
Despite the name, it has no connection to France or to the classic gin-based martini—the "French" comes from Chambord's origin.
Sweet and fruity, it became popular in the 1980s: She ordered a French martini at the hotel bar.
