Dutch braids

Underhand woven strands

Dutch braids are a hairstyle where hair is divided into sections and woven by crossing strands under rather than over each other, creating raised plaits that sit on top of the head.

Typically worn as a pair running from forehead to nape: She wore Dutch braids to keep her hair out of her face during the game.

The technique is the inverse of French braids, which lie flatter against the scalp.
